There are two types of diabetes that we should be aware of. A person is classified as Type I where the body could not produce any amount of insulin. Methods to control diabetes in this case are to introduce an outside source of insulin to the body. This often affects people who have a familial history of having Diabetes.

The other type is more of an aftermath of a person’s abuse to their body. Type II Diabetes is characterized by damage to the production of beta cells. Beta cells are important in producing insulin in the body. Insulin can be produced at minimal amounts in the body, only they either could not catch up with the levels of sugar in the blood, or the insulin in the body becomes useless. With this type, altering food intake and doing exercises are the best ways to control diabetes.

Even the smallest changes in your diet and activity will have a great impact in complicating the disease.
